Washington Rep. Newhouse seeks input on Farm Bill priorities

U.S. Rep. Dan Newhouse is asking Central Washington farmers to submit their priorities for the upcoming 2023 Farm Bill discussions in Washington, D.C., according to a news release. 

The deadline for submissions is June 7.

The Farm Bill, passed roughly every five years, is a legislative package that covers agricultural programs such as crop insurance, research and rural development. The current Farm Bill expires in September this year.

Newhouse, a Republican, owns a hop, cherry and wine grape farm near Sunnyside and represents Washington’s 4th Congressional District.
